THE JOURNEY SO FAR

Munay wasn't launched, it was built, one order, one trip, one relationship at a time. This is the record of how.

Evolution

  • August 2026

A final trip to Peru brought several new contracts to life, expanding Munay's supplier network to 10 official partners. The trip also gave the brand a more public-facing presence, with new high-profile contacts made along the way.

  • June 2026

A consignment agreement with Prunelle put Munay pieces in a boutique in Carouge, Geneva, for the first time. That same month, a second shoot in Arequipa went further into the landscapes where the alpacas themselves live.

  • March 2026

A trip to Peru led to a representation agreement with Incalpaca, making Munay the exclusive gateway to their fiber across Switzerland.

  • February 2026

That opportunity became real: the first vicuña piece sold to a client in Korea. A proof the brand was reaching international markets and the beginning of Munay's story with vicuña.

  • January 2026

Munay took a booth at Who's Next, meeting international B2B buyers for the first time, a turning point that opened the door to vicuña, the finest fiber in the world.

  • November 2025

That same month, the first professional photo shoot took place in Arequipa shot across the city's most iconic locations, with a proper team in place for the first time.

  • November 2025

A stand at Palexpo brought Munay in front of Geneva's general public for the first time, sparking curiosity beyond those who already knew the brand.

  • September 2025

Munay's first time at Première Vision in Paris, a first step onto the international stage, and a closer look at materials and suppliers beyond Peru.

  • January 2024

First contact with a major Peruvian supplier, Grupo Michel, one of the giants of the alpaca industry, through Juan Pepe, the company's commercial director. A key connection for the brand's early growth, opening a deeper understanding of the fiber itself.

  • December 2023

An invitation from the Comité de Chancy brought Munay to its first Christmas market, the first time the pieces sold to strangers, not just people who already knew Stella.

  • July 2023

A second, larger order from Alpamayo, with Hugo again, this time to test more deeply, once June's presentation had confirmed the launch was real.

  • June 2023

In the founder's mother's living room, the first pieces were presented and sold, one at a time.

  • April 2023

Following the passing of her grandmother Lita, the person Munay would be built in tribute to, Stella's father brought back the first test garments from Arequipa, bought through Alpamayo.

What hasn't changed

Growth is easy to show. It's harder to prove it hasn't cost you anything.

Since the first order from Alpamayo in 2023, three things have stayed exactly as they were.

Focus on natural fibers. Starting with baby alpaca, adding vicuña and then pima cotton, nothing else has earned a place in the collection, no matter how much the collection has grown.

Still made in Peru. Every new supplier, every new contract, has kept production in the same country the story started in.

Still a name, never a number. Every piece, from the first test garment to the newest arrival, carries a Quechua name chosen on purpose to honor Stella's grandmother and her culture.

This page is the how. Our Story is the why.
